A warning, not a failure
Every other string in this section stops you getting in or throws you out. This one appears when the game starts and then lets you play. Players quote it in two wordings. The first verbatim quotation, on 18 September 2026, reads: “Outdated Graphics Driver — Your graphics driver (version …) is below the minimum supported version (…). The game could run poorly or be unstable. Please update your GPU drivers.” A 19 September report with a screenshot has “may run poorly” and “update your graphics drivers”. Both name two version numbers: the driver you have, and the minimum the game wants. Players who kept playing report no effect on gameplay, one of them over about 30 hours, but that is their experience and not a guarantee the warning is harmless on your machine.
The version pairs players have reported
The numbers are the useful part, because they show who can and cannot clear the warning by updating. Two AMD RDNA 2 reports, twelve days apart and on different cards, show the same pair. The one NVIDIA report is a GPU whose owner says no newer driver exists for it.
- Players on these AMD cards report that the driver they have is already the latest AMD offers for them, so updating cannot reach the number the warning asks for.
- One player's theory is that the check compares two different AMD driver branches as if they were one sequence. It fits the numbers, but nobody at BULKHEAD or Team17 has said so.
- The 18 September quotation transcribes a minimum lower than the installed version; it is left out of the table because it conflicts with the two later screenshotted reports.

What Team17 support told players
Three threads drew replies from Team17 accounts that Steam flags [developer]. They are support steps given to individual players, not an explanation of the check, and none says whether the minimum version is correct for every card.

What you can actually do
If your vendor offers a driver at or above the minimum the warning names, installing it is the obvious step and the one Team17 pointed one player towards. If it does not — the RDNA 2 and GTX 1080 reports above — the record so far is players continuing to play with the warning showing. Team17's verify-files and clean-reinstall steps are worth knowing, but no reply in these threads reports either one making the warning go away. If the game actually crashes, that is a different problem with its own page.
What is not established
BULKHEAD has not published its minimum driver versions, how the check picks them, or whether it treats AMD's separate driver branches correctly. Nobody official has said whether running below the minimum actually causes instability, or whether the warning will change. And no report located shows the warning on an Intel GPU, so this page does not say how it behaves there.

What does “Outdated Graphics Driver” mean in WARDOGS?
That the game read your graphics driver version as below the minimum it supports, and warns that it “could run poorly or be unstable”. The warning names both numbers. It appears at launch and the game carries on; players report playing normally with it showing. It was first reported on 17 September 2026.
Why does WARDOGS say my AMD driver is outdated when it is the latest?
Nobody official has said. Two players on RDNA 2 cards (RX 6800 XT, RX 6700 XT) report the same pair: installed 32.0.21045.5002, minimum 32.0.31021.5001, with 32.0.21045.5002 being the newest AMD offers for those cards. One player's theory is that the check compares two different AMD driver branches. Team17 support has suggested verifying files, a DxDiag report and a clean reinstall with DDU, but has not said the check is wrong.
Can I ignore the WARDOGS outdated driver warning?
Players who did report playing normally, one over about 30 hours. That is their experience, not an official answer: BULKHEAD has not said whether running below its minimum driver causes problems. If your vendor offers a newer driver for your card, installing it is the safe first step.
Does the outdated driver warning affect NVIDIA cards?
One report, on 28 September 2026: a GTX 1080 on driver 582.55, with the warning naming a minimum of 610.47. The player says no newer driver exists for that card. No official reply was posted in that thread.
