The whole answer, in one table
Steam publishes a per-language matrix on every store page, and WARDOGS carries fourteen rows. It is collapsed behind an “English and 13 more” link on the store page itself, which is why this question keeps getting asked in every language except English. Here it is opened out.
| Language | Interface | Full audio | Subtitles |
|---|---|---|---|
| English | Yes | Yes | — |
| French | Yes | — | — |
| Italian | Yes | — | — |
| German | Yes | — | — |
| Spanish - Spain | Yes | — | — |
| Japanese | Yes | — | — |
| Korean | Yes | — | — |
| Portuguese - Brazil | Yes | — | — |
| Russian | Yes | — | — |
| Simplified Chinese | Yes | — | — |
| Traditional Chinese | Yes | — | — |
| Polish | Yes | — | — |
| Turkish | Yes | — | — |
| Ukrainian | Yes | — | — |
Interface means menus, not voices
Thirteen of the fourteen rows carry a mark in one column only. Steam’s “Interface” column covers the text the game draws — menus, the buy screen, the HUD, settings — and nothing else. “Full Audio” means recorded speech in that language, and English is the only row that has it. So a player in Tokyo, Warsaw or São Paulo gets a translated interface and English speech.
The subtitles column is empty on every row
This is the part worth knowing before you buy, and it is easy to miss because an empty column looks like a formatting quirk rather than a statement. WARDOGS lists no subtitle track in any language, English included. Whatever is spoken is not written down for you in your language or in the one it was recorded in. If you rely on subtitles — because the game is not in your first language, or because you are deaf or hard of hearing — that is a published fact about the Early Access build and not an oversight in this page.
Changing which one you get
Steam sets a per-game language in the game’s Properties, and a title picks that up if it ships the language. That is Valve’s behaviour and it applies to every game on the platform, so it is the reliable lever. What we cannot tell you is whether WARDOGS also carries its own language selector in its settings screen, or which of the two wins if they disagree — BULKHEAD has documented neither, and we are not going to describe a menu we have not seen. This section gets rewritten against the launch build.
What the table does not promise
Three things, none of them stated anywhere official. Whether the list grows during Early Access: no additional language has been announced. Whether the translations are human or machine-made: not said, and the store table has no column for it. Whether audio localisation is planned for 1.0: also not said — BULKHEAD’s own description of the full version is that it will be “broader and more polished”, which is not a localisation commitment and should not be read as one.
Common questions
Is WARDOGS in Japanese?
The interface is. There is no Japanese audio and no Japanese subtitles — spoken lines are in English and are not subtitled in any language.
Does WARDOGS support Chinese?
Both Simplified and Traditional Chinese are listed, interface only.
Is there voice acting in my language?
Only if your language is English. It is the sole row with Full Audio in Steam’s table.
Does WARDOGS have subtitles?
No. The Subtitles column is empty for all fourteen languages, English included.
Will more languages be added?
None has been announced. The fourteen above are what the store listed on 9 September 2026, the day before Early Access.
Sources & verification
Every row on this page is transcribed from Steam’s own supported-languages matrix for app 1867240, read on 9 September 2026 — the day before Early Access opens. A developer can revise that matrix at any time, which is why the date is on it.
