What BULKHEAD has said about wipes, in its own words
There is exactly one official statement on the question, and it is more specific than most of what circulates. In the “Early Access & Beyond” video, published 7 April 2026, BULKHEAD says: “At the end of a season, your cash and XP progression will reset with your cash auto converted into gold bars.” It gives the reason — to put newer players on a more level playing field with veterans, and to let the studio overhaul progression during Early Access — and then the other half: “Your gold bars and cosmetics from a season will stay permanently on your account across seasons.” That is a wipe of what you earn inside a season, with a permanent currency carried out of it.
What resets and what stays, item by item
The same passage, laid out as a ledger. The middle column is what the April plan says happens at a season’s end. The right-hand column is how far that has been established since — which is the part most answers to this question leave out.
| What you have | At a season’s end, per the April plan | Established since |
|---|---|---|
| Cash | Resets — outstanding savings convert automatically into gold bars | Confirmed for the end of Season 1; exchange rate not published |
| XP / progression | Resets | Confirmed for the end of Season 1; the video does not separate role tracks, Career or paid unlocks |
| Gold bars | Stay on your account permanently | Restated in the current devlog as the permanent-cosmetic currency |
| Cosmetics bought with gold bars | Stay on your account permanently | Restated as permanent cosmetic unlocks |
| Banked Early Access XP | Stored for later | BULKHEAD says it will eventually become skill points for future role skills; no conversion formula is published |
| Item unlocks you paid for | Not mentioned | Not established either way |
| Supporter Pack and other DLC items | Not mentioned | Not established either way |
Season 02 is live: the first full progression reset has happened
Season 02 went live at 10:00 UTC on 15 October after the maintenance window was extended beyond its scheduled 09:30 finish. BULKHEAD’s pre-season devlog said this transition would reset cash and progression and convert outstanding savings into gold bars at their end-of-season value. The studio still has not supplied the exchange rate or a complete list of every unlock and inventory field.

Season 3 is dated for 12 November; the reset clock is not
THE HOTZONE said Season 02 would run four to five weeks instead of six to eight. A later Steam review response by brammflakes, marked [developer], now says Season 3 has been brought forward to 12 November 2026 “to give everyone a proper fresh start”. The same response says Season 3 brings Limited Mode servers with no power weapons and no vehicles. It publishes no maintenance window, exact reset time, patch notes or complete Limited Mode rules.
How the 12 November date changed the earlier plan
On 17 October BULKHEAD said Season 02’s deliberate progression speed-up was the wrong call and ruled out a knee-jerk reset that weekend. At that point it was only considering bringing Season 3 forward. The 23 October developer response resolves the date: 12 November. It does not resolve the hour, downtime or exactly which progression fields the fresh start clears, so the standing season-reset plan above remains the boundary rather than a guessed checklist.
The Gold Exchange now matters at the season boundary
BULKHEAD now says outstanding savings are automatically exchanged into gold bars using their value at the end of the season, and that gold bars buy permanent cosmetic unlocks. Players have shown the Gold Exchange operating in the current client, but no official source publishes its rate or explains whether the automatic conversion uses a final snapshot, rounding rule or minimum balance.
The one reset BULKHEAD already carries out
Separate from any season, there is a reset in force today, and it is a penalty rather than a wipe. BULKHEAD’s Patch 0.11 notice says abusing cash exploits brings a timed ban and that “we will reset your cash and XP to 0”. It applies to the account that was caught, not to everyone, and it is the only reset that appears anywhere in the game’s 51 Steam news posts.
Early Access to 1.0: nothing is published
The April statement is about seasons inside Early Access. Nothing checked for this page says whether progress carries from Early Access into the full release, and the studio’s estimate is one to two years in Early Access. Anyone telling you what happens at 1.0 is not quoting BULKHEAD.
What is not established, stated plainly
None of the sources checked for this page publishes any of the following, and this site will not fill them in:
- The rate at which cash converts into gold bars — the Gold Exchange shown in April is labelled “Representative – not final”.
- Whether role-track XP and Career level reset together, or only one of them.
- Whether paid item unlocks survive a season’s end.
- Whether progress carries from Early Access into 1.0.
- The exact hour Season 02 ends and Season 3 resets — 12 November is dated, but no maintenance window or reset clock is published.
Update, 7 October: players show the Gold Exchange working
Players show the Gold Exchange working in the client: creators trade cash for gold bars at a moving rate — one tracked it falling from nearly $3 million a bar to about $300,000 by 2 October — and spend them on cosmetics, while a Black Market and a Vault store items between matches. BULKHEAD’s 9 October devlog now confirms the automatic season-end conversion, but still publishes no rate or rounding rule.
When the Season 02 reset happened: live at 10:00 UTC on 15 October
BULKHEAD’s Season 02 patch notes scheduled maintenance for 08:00–09:30 UTC on 15 October. Maintenance began at 08:00, but at 09:39 BULKHEAD extended the window and restarted existing servers across regions. At 10:00, WARDOGS Updates said Season 02 was live and services were back online. That is the public completion marker; no source publishes the exact second each account’s reset was applied. The originally scheduled window in local time was:

What you start Season 02 with, per the patch notes
The patch notes do not list what resets — that still comes from the 9 October devlog above — but they do change what starting over costs. Role-track levels come faster: BULKHEAD says reaching level 20 “now takes less than half the playtime it did in Season 1”, with the XP for level 20 cut from 250,000 to 111,500. Most attachments move to earlier levels or to new tracks, and vendor prices change across the board, from the AK74 halving to $800 to the L2A6 rising to $22,000.
How role tracks, unlocks and gold bars fit together →
- Level 10: 35,000 → 25,000 XP. Level 15: 110,000 → 54,750. Level 20: 250,000 → 111,500.
- New Season 02 weapons at the vendor: PP-19 Bizon $1,000, TCX-SPR $3,200, Evo-3 Ultra $7,250, M14 $7,400.
- Lonestar’s 5% cash / 2.5% XP experiment was removed after launch; the separate 20% trailing-team vendor discount was not named for removal.
Common questions
Will WARDOGS wipe?
Yes. BULKHEAD’s 9 October Road to Season 02 devlog confirms the end of Season 1 brings the first full progression reset: cash and progression reset, outstanding savings convert automatically into gold bars, and those bars fund permanent cosmetic unlocks.
Will Season 2 reset my progress in WARDOGS?
Yes. Season 02 went live at 10:00 UTC on 15 October after extended maintenance. BULKHEAD said the transition resets cash and progression; the exchange rate and full treatment of unlocks remain unpublished.
Do gold bars carry over in WARDOGS?
Yes. BULKHEAD’s 9 October devlog says outstanding savings are automatically exchanged into gold bars at the end of Season 1 and describes those bars as funding permanent cosmetic unlocks. It does not publish the conversion rate or rounding rule.
Will WARDOGS progress carry over to 1.0?
Nothing published says. BULKHEAD’s only statement on resets is about seasons within Early Access. No official source checked addresses carry-over from Early Access to the full release.
Does WARDOGS reset your level or just your money?
BULKHEAD’s plan resets both: “your cash and XP progression will reset” at a season’s end. It does not separate the six role tracks from the account-wide Career ladder, so whether both reset is not stated. The studio says banked Early Access XP will eventually become skill points, but publishes no conversion formula or release date.
Can BULKHEAD reset my WARDOGS account?
Yes, as a penalty. Patch 0.11 says that abusing cash exploits brings a timed ban and a reset of your cash and XP to 0. That is the only reset BULKHEAD has announced as being in force.
When does the WARDOGS Season 2 wipe happen?
It happened on 15 October 2026. Maintenance began at 08:00 UTC, was extended after the scheduled 09:30 finish, and WARDOGS Updates said Season 02 was live and services were back online at 10:00 UTC.
How long is the WARDOGS Season 2 maintenance?
The estimate was roughly 90 minutes, from 08:00 to 09:30 UTC. BULKHEAD extended the window at 09:39 and announced Season 02 live and services back online at 10:00 UTC.
Sources & verification
The 7 April plan was restated for the Season 1 transition in BULKHEAD’s 9 October devlog. THE HOTZONE on 24 October revised Season 02’s duration target to four or five weeks and discussed longer future seasons. A developer-marked Steam response now dates Season 3 for 12 November 2026 and calls it a fresh start. It supplies no maintenance window, reset clock or complete carry-over matrix; the exchange rate and XP-to-points formula also remain unpublished.

The Atom feed titles it “The Wipe”; the watch page displayed the alternate title “Did we OVER react?” when its complete 70-minute English transcript was read on 24 October. The studio says retained top-quartile players progressed 2.4× faster than Season 1, Driver participation rose from 9% to 44% on Season 2’s first day, and fewer than 400 accounts used the Driver exploit. It says Season 02 will run four to five weeks instead of six to eight, monthly seasons are unsustainable, roughly three-month future seasons with a smaller mid-season update are under consideration, and Intel targets Q2 2027. These are spoken plans, not final patch notes: the episode gives no exact Season 3 date or reset time, and its IR-binocular discussion is explicitly introduced as raw and not gospel. | Publisher stated | 2026-10-24 |
