The date, and where it comes from
WARDOGS enters Steam Early Access on 10 September 2026. Both the Steam store page and Team17’s own press hub carry it, so this is one of the few facts about the game confirmed in two independent official places. Nothing about the date is in dispute.
What it costs, and that it will not stay there
$39.99 USD at Early Access. Steam requires every Early Access developer to answer a fixed question about pricing, and BULKHEAD’s answer is “Yes, we plan for WARDOGS to be priced lower during Early Access.” So a rise is confirmed in writing by the developer — what is not stated anywhere official is when, or by how much. Our price page separates the confirmed direction from the figures circulating online.
Windows, and only Windows
The store page lists Windows and nothing else. No macOS build, no Linux build, no console version, and therefore no supported Steam Deck play at launch. BULKHEAD has spoken publicly about wanting to reach consoles and about Proton, but it has announced no platform, storefront or window for either.
The unlock time, published 9 September
16:00 UTC. BULKHEAD published a “GLOBAL RELEASE TIMES” map from the verified @WARDOGS account on 9 September at 22:44 UTC, naming nine cities from Los Angeles at 09:00 PDT to Sydney at 02:00 AEST on the 11th, and all nine are the same instant. Until that post this page said the widely-quoted 16:00 UTC figure was derived from SteamDB's countdown rather than announced, which was true when it was written. The launch-day page carries the full conversion table and explains why Steam may show you 11 September.
What Early Access means here
BULKHEAD answers Steam’s standard questions directly, and its answers are worth reading before you buy. On duration: “We expect WARDOGS to remain in Early Access for around 1 to 2 years.” On the state of the build: “The Early Access version of WARDOGS is fully playable and represents the core vision of the game.” On the full release: “The full version of WARDOGS is planned to be broader and more polished than the Early Access release.”
The developer is telling you to be careful
This is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly. Alongside opening pre-orders, BULKHEAD published a devlog titled “10 Reasons why you should NOT Buy WARDOGS”, and its own announcement says: “we encourage you to try out the game and refund if the game doesn’t live up to your expectations.” A studio pointing at the refund button on launch week is setting expectations rather than managing them, and it is the most useful signal available about what shipping day will feel like.
What is not settled
Server capacity and queue behaviour have not been described. No day-one patch has been detailed. And no content counts — weapons, vehicles, maps — appear in any official text, though figures from a devlog video circulate widely. Those become answerable on the day, against a live build, and not before.

Sources & verification
Date, price and platform are published in two places, and the unlock time was published by the studio itself on 9 September — before that it was a derived figure, and this page said so.
