REGIONAL ROLLOUT · 21 OCT 2026 · 19:07 UTC
Maximum server ping is being reduced to 175
BULKHEAD says it has begun controlling regions and will reduce the maximum server ping to 175 over the hours following its announcement. Backend region locking is still described as in progress, with stricter limits on cross-region mixing to follow.
The studio links the decision to cheating and says it is prioritising the largest group of players. It does not name affected regions, server categories, an exact completion time or an exception for cross-region parties; the rollout notice is not proof that every server already applies the same limit.
BULKHEAD says regional controls have begun, the maximum server ping will be reduced to 175 over the following hours, and stricter backend region locking is in progress. The notice names no affected-region list, exact completion time or cross-region party exception.
BULKHEAD acknowledges a bug that lets some ground vehicles “fly” around the map, says a server-side hotfix is in progress, and warns that abuse can bring a permanent ban. No completion time, downtime or affected-vehicle list is published.
BULKHEAD says it is removing the blue-team 5% cash / 2.5% XP modifiers, temporarily slowing the over-fast Driver track, and fixing a Driver exploit. Limited Mode servers without power weapons or vehicles are announced for later, not live in this backend update.
Season 02 is live. Maintenance began at 08:00 UTC, overran the scheduled 09:30 finish, and received an official back-online notice at 10:00 UTC. Rain is rolling out as a random map-change preset across regions; the patch also adds four guns, T-72B3, Gepard, Molotov, damage cuts, faster XP and new prices.
IR Rangefinders are being removed from vendors as regional servers restart, then return in Season 02 with a battery requirement. The CIWS now destroys a Havoc in around 6 seconds instead of 12. No client download or downtime is required.
BULKHEAD scheduled a security and stability hotfix for 08:00 UTC on 2 October, with one hour of expected downtime. By 09:38 UTC the estimated hour had passed, but no official start or recovery notice was visible; the post still publishes no symptoms, client build or code changes.
Maintenance ended at 09:01 UTC with instructions to close and update before joining. Update 0.1.2 fixes the recent KB5124010-linked WD-L020 crash, closes named cash and XP exploits, revises enforcement, and adds Deploy, server-admin, stability, vehicle and UI changes.
BULKHEAD announced imminent downtime at 07:53 UTC on 14 September and said servers were back up at 09:06 UTC. Patch 0.11 separates Official and Community browsers, adds persistent community-server IDs and text search, fixes cash exploits and addresses more GPU crashes.
The beta-to-launch changes: a slower early progression curve, new unlock levels, vendor prices, vehicle handling and stability fixes.
Before Early Access: the test phases
BULKHEAD ran test builds for months before launch but published no changelog for any of them in its Steam announcement feed. The first public change list is the Season 1 changelog, which describes what changed between the beta and launch.
A scale test with invitations handed out in waves, aimed at server scaling and browsing, Twitch Drops, DLC entitlements, voice chat and the login queue. Pre-orders guaranteed access.
Played through a separate “WARDOGS Playtest” Steam app, with the NDA lifted. Pre-orders guaranteed access; the sign-up pool was added more slowly so the team could study server scaling and stability.
Announced in an official BULKHEAD video rather than a Steam post. Its end card reads “Closed Alpha 7th – 9th August”, and the description told players to wishlist on Steam and watch the studio’s Twitch to gain access. BULKHEAD’s 11 August pre-order post called it a success and lifted the NDA on Closed Alpha footage.
BULKHEAD said it had been playtesting a Pre-Alpha build with a small group of players for a few months, and was adding more testers that month.
