How to deploy and cut a parachute
A parachute sits in its own slot and never opens by itself. The deploy prompt only appears once you are actually falling — not while standing on a roof.

Buy one before you fly
Basic ($100) or Sport ($1,000) from the vendor; it takes a 3×2 block of inventory.

Jump, then press Space
Deploy Parachute is Space by default on PC, and appears once you are falling.

Press C to cut it
Cut Parachute drops you the rest of the way — useful when a slow descent is making you a target. The canopy is spent either way.

The in-game text is the short version: the Basic “Cannot be Controlled”, the Sport “Can be Controlled”.

Flying the Sport canopy
From the wardogs.zone Field Manual (30 August, before launch). The Sport parachute converts height into distance, reaching about 22 m/s forward and up to 30 m/s downward. Its flare pulls up against the descent to bleed speed before touchdown, but it runs on stamina that drains at 50 a second and refills at 30 — hold it too long and you run out with the ground still coming. It is entirely possible to land too fast under it.
Which one to carry
The weight is the part people underestimate: 9 kg of Sport canopy is ammunition or armour you are not bringing. If the drop is just a landing onto ground you meant to reach — a helicopter insert into the Control Zone — the $100 Basic does the job. The Sport earns its price when the jump is the transport: high and far, to a tower or a flank no road serves. BULKHEAD lowered its unlock from Career 36 to 35 in the Season 1 changelog.
Season 02 and the “25 m minimum” talk
Since 3 October players on the Steam board have been arguing about a parachute nerf — one thread is titled “Parachute nerf is going to suck!!” and cites a “25m minimum chute pull”. This site has not found that rule in any BULKHEAD source: the Season 02 preview of 9 October does not mention parachutes, and the site’s notes on the 9 October press conference record none. Season 02 releases on 15 October with full patch notes due before then; treat the 25 m figure as a rumour until they say it.
When the deploy prompt does not appear
Occasionally it simply is not offered: a player reported on 8 October jumping out with a parachute in the slot, getting no deploy option and dying, and another blamed lag for the same thing on 7 October. Neither was answered by BULKHEAD. The only practical defence is to jump with height to spare, so a late prompt is not fatal.
Common questions
How do you deploy a parachute in WARDOGS?
Jump, and once you are falling press Space (the default Deploy Parachute key on PC). You need a parachute in your loadout; the prompt does not appear before you fall.
How do you cut your parachute in WARDOGS?
Press C. The canopy collapses and you drop the rest of the way; the parachute is used up either way.
What is the difference between the Basic and Sport parachute?
The Basic costs $100, weighs 2.5 kg and cannot be steered. The Sport costs $1,000, weighs 9 kg, unlocks at WARDOG level 35 and can glide and flare.
Can you reuse a parachute in WARDOGS?
No. Both are single use; cutting one spends it exactly as landing under it does.
Is there a minimum parachute height in Season 02?
Players talk of a 25 m minimum pull, but no BULKHEAD source located states it. The Season 02 preview does not mention parachutes; check the final patch notes.
