SERVERS

Where should you check WARDOGS server access?

What BULKHEAD planned its WARDOGS servers for, what actually showed up, and the official channels that report an outage before any fan site can.

THE QUICK ANSWER

Check the official Steam announcements and WARDOGS Discord for confirmed service issues. This page does not probe live servers. The reported beta peak and the studio’s audience target provide background; neither proves whether servers are available now.

The gap the studio named itself

Unverified

Tech Times quotes the studio’s planning target as 5,000 concurrent players. The same article also uses daily-player wording elsewhere, so we use the unit in its attributed quote and do not combine daily users with simultaneous users. Its reported beta peak of 245,118 concurrent players is a historical audience measurement, not a measured server-capacity ceiling or a forecast for the paid launch.

The betas were load tests, and were run as such

Publisher stated

BULKHEAD opened the last stretch of Closed Beta 02 to everyone on 5 September with the words “come break our servers”, and closed it at 08:00 UTC on the 6th. The studio described the test as a scale check covering server scaling, server browsing, login queues and voice chat. Four days then separated that close from Early Access, which is not much time to act on what a 245,000-player night teaches you.

This site is not a status page

Publisher stated

Three places will know before we do, in the order they usually update: the Steam store page, which flips the moment the build unlocks; BULKHEAD’s Steam announcement feed; and the official Discord, where the studio has historically posted during test weekends before anywhere else. A fan site polling those and republishing them adds a delay and a chance of being wrong. All three are linked below — go to them directly.

What still needs a launch-build check

Unverified

Queue behaviour, region coverage, whether community-hosted servers appear at launch and what the server browser looks like in the shipping build are all undocumented in official text today. Error strings are the sharpest case: this site will document a connection error against the text a real build produces, and not before. A troubleshooting list written from guesses is worse than an empty page, because it looks like help.

What you can usefully do beforehand

Unverified

Editorial preparation, not instruction. Leave the 50 GB the store page asks for, update your graphics driver, and test your microphone — local voice is a core mechanic here rather than a nicety, so a dead mic costs more than it would in most shooters. If you cannot get in on the day, check the store page and the announcement feed before assuming the problem is yours.

Common questions

Are the WARDOGS servers down?

This site is not a live status feed and will not fake one. BULKHEAD's Steam announcement feed and the official Discord acknowledge outages first.

How many players were the servers built for?

Tech Times quotes a planning target of 5,000 concurrent players. That is an audience target, not a verified hard limit on server capacity. Its reported beta peak is a separate historical measurement.

Will there be queues at launch?

Nothing official says either way. Login queues were one of the systems BULKHEAD said Closed Beta 02 was testing.

Are there community or dedicated servers?

No official BULKHEAD statement about third-party server hosting appears in the Steam announcement feed as of 9 September 2026. Claims circulating elsewhere are not sourced to anything the studio has published.

What time do the servers open?

See launch day: the date is official, and the 16:00 UTC unlock is now official too — BULKHEAD published the global release times on 9 September.

Sources & verification

Nothing here reports whether the servers are up right now. A fan site refreshing a page cannot know that faster than the developer announcing it.
