IR Rangefinder & CIWS balance hotfix
IR Rangefinders are being removed from vendors as regional servers restart, then return in Season 02 with a battery requirement. The CIWS now destroys a Havoc in around 6 seconds instead of 12. No client download or downtime is required.

- IR Rangefinders are to be disabled in the vendor as regional servers restart within 12 hours of the announcement.
- BULKHEAD says IR Rangefinders will return with Season 02 and require batteries to use.
- The Vanguard CIWS now destroys the Havoc in around 6 seconds instead of around 12 seconds.
- BULKHEAD says it had overcorrected the CIWS/Havoc interaction in the previous patch.
- No client download or server downtime is required for these server-side changes.
“Around 6 seconds” and “12” are BULKHEAD’s published comparison for a CIWS destroying a Havoc. They are not a general damage table, and the announcement publishes no projectile damage, Havoc health, range or ammunition figure.
The vendor removal follows server restarts within 12 hours
BULKHEAD published the notice at 15:39:32 UTC on 2 October and said IR Rangefinders would be disabled “within the next 12 hours” as servers restart across regions. That describes a staged rollout, not one worldwide switch time. This site therefore does not claim every region changed immediately or convert the window into a guaranteed completion time.
The same post says no client download or server downtime is required. It does not identify a client build or say these balance changes are the contents of the separately announced 08:00 UTC security-and-stability maintenance.
IR Rangefinders return with a battery requirement
The announcement confirms only that they will require batteries when they return in Season 02. It does not publish battery capacity, drain rate, replacement method, vendor price, unlock requirement or whether existing inventory is affected.
Read what is confirmed about Season 02 →The title says CWIS; the announcement body says CIWS
BULKHEAD’s headline spells the emplacement “CWIS”, while the body says “CIWS”. Existing WARDOGS material and this site use CIWS, so the player-facing summary retains that spelling without silently changing the source title.
